Owning a maker tool such as a Laser Engraver / CNC machine is a bit like owning a high-performance race car, except you are both the mechanic and the driver, which means you'll need to take responsibility for maintenance, and occasionally fixing things when they go wrong.
You'll also need to have a PC and an internet connection, be capable of Googling for solutions to common issues usually found in forums such as Reddit, know how to use screwdrivers, Allen keys, and spanners, and have the confidence to pull things apart for maintenance and repair.
Most Jaycar stores can offer guidance in person with diagnosis and troubleshooting for machines sold by Jaycar - along with providing guidance and insight into the repair and maintenance requirements for your machine. However, stores are not able to run or work in these machines in store due to safety constraints.

Please note that Laser Engraver & CNC machines differ significantly from consumer 3D printers.
Customers should expect:
A steeper learning curve than 3D printing.
Basic CAD/CAM and G-code knowledge is recommended before use.
Time will be required to learn machine setup, software, and machining techniques.

Reading the user manual and following all safety instructions is essential before first use.
You should have a basic understanding of, or willingness to learn of, the following:
Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create or modify part designs.
Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software to generate machining toolpaths.
G-code generation and how Laser/CNC machines interpret machining instructions.
Selecting appropriate cutting tools (end mills, drill bits, engraving tools, etc.).
Material selection and understanding different machining properties.
Machine setup, including workpiece clamping and securing materials correctly.
Setting machining parameters such as spindle speed, feed rate, cutting depth, and step-over.
Basic troubleshooting and machine calibration.
Safety considerations
Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the machine while in operation.
Always wear approved safety glasses during machine operation.
Wear hearing protection where required.
Keep hands, clothing, jewellery, and long hair away from moving parts.
Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped before starting the machine.
Verify the toolpath and machine settings before commencing a job.
Never leave the machine unattended while it is operating.
Keep the work area clean and free of loose objects.
Be aware of flying chips, dust, and sharp cutting tools.
Ensure adequate ventilation or dust extraction when machining materials that generate fine dust.
Disconnect power before changing tools or performing maintenance.
