The YN8370 N300 Wi-Fi Range Extender is ideal for boosting your existing ISP modem/router's Wi-Fi to a nearby room, and also provides a cabled network port at the remote location for non-Wi-Fi devices.
Connecting to your existing modem/router via Wi-Fi
- Set the bottom MODE switch on the side of the extender to the middle REPEATER position
- Plug the extender into a power point next to your internet modem / router
- Switch the power on, move the side power switch on the extender to ON, and wait 30 seconds.
- Press the round WPS button on the front of the extender for 6 seconds
- The WPS/Power LED will start flashing when you release the button
- On your internet modem / router, and press and hold the WPS button for 2-3 seconds.
- Wait 30 seconds for the units to find each other
- The LEDs will go out, then the WLAN LED will blink for a few seconds, and go solid when done
- Unplug the extender and plug it in at the location that you want to extend to
On your Wi-Fi devices, search for a new Wi-Fi named (your modem/router's Wi-Fi name)_EXT and connect to it. The extender's Wi-Fi will use the same password as your internet modem / router's Wi-Fi.
You can also plug in a wired network device to the LAN port on the extender using a patch cable - it will connect automatically.
Note that the room you want to extend to still needs to have *some* Wi-Fi signal available from your ISP modem / router, for the extender to work with - you can check if the ISP modem/router Wi-Fi signal is in that room by connecting to it with your phone. If the phone can't connect to the ISP modem/router's Wi-Fi, you may have to place the extender closer to the ISP modem/router.
