Owning a 3D printer is a bit like owning a race car, except you are both the mechanic and the driver, which means you'll need to take responsibility for maintenance, and occasionally fixing things when they go wrong.

You'll also need to have a PC and an internet connection, be capable of Googling for solutions to common issues usually found in forums such as Reddit, know how to use screwdrivers, Allen keys, and spanners, and have the confidence to pull things apart for maintenance and repair.

Elegoo have an excellent collection of support resources to assist you in replacing parts yourself.

Most Jaycar stores can offer assistance in person with diagnosis and troubleshooting for printers sold by Jaycar - along with providing guidance and insight into the repair and maintenance requirements for your printer.

Note that some components such as build plates, nozzles, heaters and thermistors are consumables that wear as you use them (just like tyres on cars), and are expected to be replaced by the owner when worn out. Hot ends have a 3 month warranty, extruders have a 6-month warranty, and the printer base structure has a 12 month warranty.

These two printers share the same basic components. The differences between them are:

Neptune 4 Pro has an 'all metal dual-axis guide rails' and 'double-row ball U-shaped bearing' on the X and Y axis'. The non-Pro has POM V-guide rails.
The Neptune Pro has a segmented heated zones (one section at 100w and the other at 150w). This allows for smarter and quicker heating of the print surface in some scenarios. The non-pro has a single 250w heating element below the build plate.
