If you want to extend existing Wi-Fi from your original modem to a larger area, a Wi-Fi extender that simply plugs into a power point would be ideal.
You can use a Wi-Fi extender to extend Wi-Fi to a specific location that you can run a network cable to from your original router, such as a backyard shed or granny flat.
Wi-Fi extenders can also connect to your existing Wi-Fi if you can not run a cable, although the extendable distance may be limited by the strength of your original Wi-Fi.
Many of the Wi-Fi extenders also provide additional network cable ports at the remote location.
